CellarPro Wine Cooling:
Repair, Maintenance & Installation
CellarPro builds some of the most capable wine cooling systems on the market — but they still fail. Compressor issues, fan motor burnout, thermostat drift, refrigerant leaks, and condensate problems. We service the full CellarPro lineup: 1800, 3200, 4200, 6200, and 8200 series in self-contained, split, and ducted configurations across the Bay Area.
What We Do for CellarPro Systems
Repair, maintenance, and installation for the full CellarPro product line — self-contained, split, and ducted configurations.
Compressor & Refrigerant Repair
CellarPro uses commercial-grade compressors rated for continuous operation at wine cellar temperatures (55°F). When they fail, your wine is at risk within hours. We diagnose compressor failures, refrigerant leaks, and hot gas valve issues. Compressor replacement: $800–$1,500. Leak repair: $300–$800.
Temperature & Humidity Control
CellarPro units feature built-in humidity management — a key advantage over basic cooling systems. When the temperature sensor drifts, the humidity control malfunctions, or the controller fails, we recalibrate or replace. Sensor replacement: $100–$300. Controller board: $300–$600.
Fan Motor & Airflow Service
CellarPro’s evaporator and condenser fans run continuously to maintain even temperature distribution. When fan motors fail or bearings wear, you get hot spots in the cellar and uneven cooling. Fan motor replacement: $150–$400. We also check airflow patterns and duct connections on ducted models.
Condensate & Drain Service
Wine cellars produce condensate constantly. When the drain line clogs or the condensate pump fails, water accumulates inside the cellar — damaging racking, labels, and flooring. We clear drain lines, replace pumps, and ensure proper drainage. Pump replacement: $200–$400.
New CellarPro Installation
Self-contained through-wall units (1800, 3200, 4200 series), split systems with remote condensers (VS series), and ducted configurations for larger cellars (6200, 8200 series). We handle sizing calculations, electrical, refrigerant line sets, and commissioning. Learn about installation.
Annual Maintenance
CellarPro recommends annual professional service. We clean condenser and evaporator coils, verify refrigerant charge, check temperature and humidity calibration, clear drain lines, inspect electrical connections, and test all safety controls. Annual service: $250–$450. See maintenance plans.
CellarPro in the Bay Area: What Wine Collectors Need to Know
CellarPro is the second most common wine cooling brand we service in Los Gatos, Saratoga, Palo Alto, and Menlo Park wine cellars (after WhisperKOOL). CellarPro’s key advantage is built-in humidity management and commercial-grade components that handle California’s warm climate better than many competitors.
However, CellarPro systems are not immune to Bay Area conditions. Homes in hillside locations (Los Gatos, Monte Sereno) often have cellars in lower levels where condensate drainage is challenging. Coastal properties face salt air corrosion on condenser coils. And Bay Area summer heat (85–100°F ambient) pushes through-wall units hard — especially when exhaust ventilation is inadequate.

CellarPro Models We Service
1800 Series (smallest — up to 200 cu ft cellars, through-wall), 3200 Series (most popular for residential cellars, 400–600 cu ft), 4200 Series (mid-range, 600–1,000 cu ft), 6200 Series (large cellars, split and ducted options), 8200 Series (commercial-grade, 1,500+ cu ft, ducted), and VS Series (split systems with remote condensers for noise-sensitive installations).
CellarPro vs WhisperKOOL
Both are excellent brands. CellarPro offers built-in humidity control and slightly better BTU output per dollar. WhisperKOOL has a broader dealer network and more model options. For Bay Area cellars, the choice often comes down to installation configuration and cellar size. We service both equally well and recommend based on your specific situation. See our detailed comparison guide.
