AC Repair & Service
for Bay Area Homes
No cooling on a 95° day is more than uncomfortable — it is a health risk for children, seniors, and pets. We diagnose and repair central air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems the same day. All brands, honest pricing, no upselling.
AC Repair Services
We fix every type of residential air conditioning problem — from a $150 capacitor to a full system replacement.
Refrigerant Leak & Recharge
Low refrigerant is the #1 cause of poor cooling. We locate leaks using electronic detectors and UV dye, repair the leak, and recharge the system to manufacturer specifications. Running low on refrigerant damages the compressor over time.
Compressor Repair & Replacement
The compressor is the heart of your AC. When it fails, there is no cooling at all. We diagnose compressor issues (grounded, open, locked rotor) and advise whether repair or replacement makes financial sense for your system’s age.
Capacitor & Contactor
A failed capacitor is the most common AC repair we see. The outdoor unit hums but the fan does not spin, or the compressor will not start. Quick fix, usually completed in under an hour.
Condenser & Evaporator Coil
Dirty coils reduce cooling capacity by 20–40%. Leaking evaporator coils are a common source of slow refrigerant loss. We clean, repair, and replace coils for all residential AC brands.
Fan Motor & Blower
Outdoor condenser fan motor and indoor blower motor replacement. A seized fan motor causes the system to overheat and shut down on safety. We carry common motor sizes for same-day repair.
Thermostat & Wiring
Thermostat replacement, wiring repair, and smart thermostat installation. A misconfigured thermostat can make a perfectly good AC system appear broken. We verify wiring and programming before replacing parts.
AC Repair in the Bay Area: What Homeowners Should Know
Bay Area summers are getting hotter. Inland areas like San Jose, Los Gatos, and Saratoga routinely hit 95–100°F from June through September. A working air conditioner is not a luxury — it is essential for comfort, sleep quality, and health, especially for young children, elderly family members, and pets.
Most residential AC problems fall into a few categories: the system runs but does not cool well (usually refrigerant or airflow), the outdoor unit does not start (usually electrical components), or the system cycles on and off constantly (often a dirty filter, refrigerant issue, or oversized system). Many of these repairs take 1–2 hours and cost between $150 and $800.
When Repair vs. Replacement Makes Sense
If your AC is under 10 years old and the repair is under $1,000, repair is almost always the right call. Between 10–15 years, compare the repair cost to roughly half the price of a new system. Over 15 years old — especially if it uses R-22 refrigerant — replacement is usually more economical because R-22 costs $75–$150 per pound and the system is near end of life anyway. We will always give you an honest recommendation.
